Aftercare

YAY!! You decided to have permanent makeup done! But now how are you going to care for the area? What is the healing process? How long do I have to take care of them? These are all questions I get asked, completely normal!

After your procedure is done, its up to you now to determine the success of your procedure. Following the aftercare recommendations successfully will get you through the healing process with beautiful enhanced features. I go through all this following a procedure and send you home with aftercare as well. Here are a few tips that might answer some questions before your procedure.

1. Moisturize the area

If the scabs or flakes are too dry, they will itch and you will be more prone to scratching, so to avoid that, try to keep the area moisturized by using the ointment recommended. If you happen to run out of the specific ointment, Vaseline or coconut oil will do. To clean, simply pat away with a clean towel and use anti bacterial soap to wash if needed.Do not rub.

2. Do not pull out the scabs

This is very important if you want your pigment to stay. If the skin scabs and peels, the color will come out, it is highly important that you do not pull out these scabs. They might itch but do your best to keep them in place, they will fall off in their own time. The reason, again, is the pigment. Pulling out the scabs could leave an uneven color in the area.

3. Keep the area clean

Your goal is to try to keep the procedure area clean. If you apply makeup or creams on the area you might soil the area and remove some scabs in the cleaning process. During the healing process it is important to keep the area as clean as possible to avoid having to scrub the new pigment.

4. Try to avoid sweating

It is the summer, I understand this is near impossible! You should try not engaging in arduous physical activity for 5 days after your procedure. Again, excessive sweating might absorb the pigment and leave a patchy texture.

5. Avoid the sun

Keep out of the sun for the next month or so. That means, no tanning whatsoever, at least cover your face. Wear a hat when going outside and once the area has completely healed, use sunblock to ensure longer lasting results. Taking care and having good skin will result in longer lasting results.

The healing process usually lasts 5 days after the procedure. Taking care of the area after the 5 days, will just prolong your results and keep them beautiful. We're all human though and don't always follow directions, so don't worry that's why I include a free touch up with my procedures!
