Does it hurt?
This is one of the most common questions I have been asked. It makes sense cause this was one of the questions that ran through my mind before I got my own eyebrows done. From experience I would rate my overall pain a 1.5 out of 5, I had a cold during my procedure which made a difference in the pain. My last eyeliner client stressed about the pain for days before her procedure, I reassured it that it wasn't going to hurt. As I prepared her for my first pass (where most the pain will take place), her reaction to the pain was that it tickled her eye, not painful at all.
So why doesn't it hurt? I use a topical anesthetic cream to numb the area that the procedure will be taking place. The first numbing cream will sit for 20-25 minutes before the procedure starts, to make use you are numb. During the procedure I apply a topical anesthetic gel, this gel will continue to keep the area numb while I apply the pigment.
These anesthetics are recommended by professionals to use for our practice.
